Can you take the CCMP from Europe?
Yes. The ACMP delivers the CCMP exam by online proctoring through Kryterion, or at a Kryterion test centre, so it can be taken remotely from Europe (ACMP exam page, read on 7 October 2026).
The exam has 150 multiple-choice questions and lasts three hours, with up to three attempts within a year. The ACMP publishes neither the pass mark nor the exam languages, and it mentions standard English keyboards only. For a candidate based in Lyon, Lisbon or Leipzig, the safe assumption is an English-language exam.
The eligibility rules are the same everywhere: a four-year degree or international equivalent plus 4,200 hours of change management experience, or secondary education plus 7,000 hours, plus 21 hours of training aligned with the Standard for Change Management© in the past seven years. Training submitted to the ACMP must be documented in English, which matters if you choose a course outside the QEP™ list.
Which providers teach in French, German or Spanish?
APMG lists English, French, German, Polish, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese for its change management exams, while Prosci mentions English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese. Leanova teaches in English, French and Spanish (provider pages read on 7 October 2026). The ACMP registry lists its 21-hour Live Online and Classroom settings in English, Spanish and French, and the self-paced setting with AI-powered narration in five languages.
| Provider | Credential or course | Languages listed | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACMP | CCMP®, MCMP™ (exam) | Not published | Online proctoring or test centre |
| Leanova Academy | 21-hour QEP™ prep courses | Live course in English, French, Spanish; self-paced in English, with audio and subtitles also in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and more (AI narration) | Self-paced or live online |
| APMG International | Foundation and Practitioner | English, French, German, Polish, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese | Exam via accredited training organisations |
| Prosci | Change Management Certification Program | English, plus French, Spanish, German, Portuguese mentioned | 3 to 5 days, online or in person |
| Change Management Institute | Accredited Change Professional | Not stated on the page we read | Portfolio assessment, members only |
Prosci’s program costs US$4,500 online and US$4,850 in person on 7 October 2026, with the credential titled Prosci Certified Change Practitioner. Prosci is a methodology and training company, and it does not award the CCMP.
This site follows Leanova Academy, so its courses get more space here than the others. The comparison of the credentials themselves is in our side-by-side review of the CCMP, Prosci and APMG.
APMG and CMI: an exam route and a portfolio route

Official badges of the credentials compared here, shown to identify each one. They belong to their respective owners.
APMG offers a Foundation exam and a Practitioner exam, both built on a syllabus developed with the Change Management Institute, and neither is the CCMP. The details come from APMG’s product page, read on 7 October 2026.
Foundation has 50 multiple-choice questions in 40 minutes, with a pass mark of 25 out of 50, closed book, and it does not expire. Practitioner has 80 scenario questions in 2 hours 30, pass mark 40 out of 80, open book, with a re-registration exam within three to five years. The Practitioner v3 exam bundle was £336 on that date, and the exam alone is usually £448. Training goes through accredited training organisations, and the Foundation price is not published.
The Change Management Institute runs a different kind of assessment. Its Accredited Change Professional route is reserved for members and relies on a portfolio assessed against the Change Manager Competency Model (CMI accreditation page). Foundation was USD 525 on 7 October 2026, or USD 450 with endorsed training.
French and Spanish CCMP preparation at Leanova
Leanova, an official ACMP® QEP™, gives its live CCMP course in French and Spanish as well as English. The 21-hour live course (code Q000609) cost US$795 on 7 October 2026.
It runs over three live days, 8:30 to 17:00 Eastern Time, on Teams or Google Meet, and includes the self-paced course. Eastern Time matters for a European reader: 8:30 in New York is 14:30 in Paris, so the session ends around 23:00 French time. We would pick the live online CCMP course only if that schedule suits you, and the self-paced version (English with subtitles, US$595 on the same date) if it does not.
Organisations have two dedicated pages. A French course for companies covers team training, and a Spanish CCMP course serves Spanish-speaking candidates. Leanova also lists LCeX-Specialist™, its applied AI course, with French audio and subtitles at US$195 (list price US$495, pre-launch), and the materials stay in English.
Leanova is a training provider. It issues certificates of completion and the 21 hours the ACMP asks for, and the CCMP itself comes from the ACMP after your exam.
German-speaking readers: start with the English courses
The ACMP registry lists German among the course languages of Leanova’s LCeX-Essentials (5 QEP hours) and LCeX-Specialist (8 QEP hours), seen on 7 October 2026, while the 21-hour CCMP prep course is in English with subtitles and its live sessions exist in French and Spanish. A German-speaking candidate can therefore start the LCeX courses and then complete the 21 hours in English. Note, though, that the course syllabus (May 2026 edition) announces separate self-paced versions with audio and subtitles in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and more, produced with AI narration, while the slides, quizzes and exam remain in English. APMG’s German-language exams are the closest local option, and they lead to a different credential.
In practice, a reader in Munich or Zurich who wants the CCMP takes a 21-hour QEP™ course in English, applies to the ACMP with English documentation, and sits an exam whose language is not published. Anyone comfortable with professional English will manage; anyone who is not should consider the APMG Foundation in German first, then add the CCMP once the vocabulary is familiar.
Choosing by language and goal
If the goal is the CCMP, pick a 21-hour QEP™ course in the language you learn best, then prepare for an English exam. If the goal is a European-rooted credential with local-language exams, APMG fits better.
For a first credential with three years of experience, we would aim for the CCMP, because the ACMP sets the Standard that the QEP™ courses follow. Without that experience, the APMG Foundation has a different logic: no experience hours stated, a 40-minute exam, no expiry. Our ranking of change management certifications sets out the other routes.
A practical next step is to open the ACMP’s QEP page, search the registry in your language, and note the course code before you register, so that the 21 hours will be accepted when you apply.
Frequently asked questions
Which change management certification programmes exist?
Three families. Credentials awarded by a body after an assessment: CCMP and MCMP (ACMP), APMG Foundation and Practitioner, CMI accreditation. Course credentials: Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, Kotter Change Certified, eCornell and ATD certificates. And QEP training courses that prepare the CCMP, listed in the ACMP registry: Leanova Academy’s 21-hour course and its LCeX pathway are among them on 7 October 2026.
Can I earn a change management certification entirely online?
Yes. The CCMP exam is taken online with Kryterion proctoring, and the 21 required hours can come from an online QEP course, self-paced or live, as long as an instructor is involved. Leanova Academy’s 21-hour course exists in both formats (US$595 and US$795 on 7 October 2026). APMG exams are also available with online proctoring.
