How we compare CCMP exam prep courses: five checks

We compare courses on five facts you can verify: QEP status, the number of instructor hours, the format, the language and the price on a given day. The ACMP requires 21 hours of change management training aligned with the Standard for Change Management©, completed in the past seven years, before it accepts a CCMP application (ACMP eligibility page, read on 7 October 2026).

Two more details matter in practice. An instructor must be present, in a classroom or online, although blended formats with self-study are accepted. And the ACMP publishes no pass rate, so any course that advertises one is quoting something we cannot trace to the ACMP.

A word on our own position: this site follows Leanova Academy, an official ACMP QEP, so it comes first in the list below. We kept its entry to the same kind of facts as the others, with the date next to each figure.

Which five courses lead the list on 7 October 2026?

Leanova’s self-paced course carries QEP code Q000607 and has 45 modules with one year of access, in English with subtitles. The live version (code Q000609) runs three days from 8:30 to 17:00 Eastern Time on Teams or Google Meet, includes the self-paced course and is available in English, French and Spanish. Leanova lists the 14-day money-back guarantee and a Trustpilot score of 4.7 out of 5 from 39 reviews on the same date. The ACMP registry lists the 21-hour course in three settings, Classroom, Live Online and Self-Paced/Blended, with 45 modules, the VitaNova Health case study, 45 deliverables and a final course exam with a 70 % pass mark. That exam is Leanova’s own, not the ACMP’s (registry entries seen on 7 October 2026). According to the course syllabus (May 2026 edition), each module follows a “Job Instruction” card (what to do, how to do it, why it matters, and the deliverable), applied to the fictional VitaNova Health case, which yields 45 deliverables. Assessment rests on 135 quiz questions and a 50-question final exam (70 % to pass, two attempts, 90 minutes), after which the learner receives a certificate and the LCeX-Professional™ badge, described in our article on the course certificate.

jTask is the closest rival on the checks above: QEP status and 21 hours of instruction, at a higher price and without the ACMP exam fee. Prosci states that its programme earns PDUs, including ACMP QEP credits, but it is a methodology programme that ends in a Prosci credential, not a preparation built around the CCMP exam. We could not verify Acuity’s claim to cover the 21 hours, so we place it last.

Do I need a QEP course to sit the CCMP?

No: the ACMP accepts any instructor-led training aligned with the Standard, and QEP courses are simply pre-qualified (ACMP training FAQ, read on 7 October 2026).

A course outside the programme can still be submitted, with its objectives, outline, dates, duration and the share led by an instructor, all documented in English. That adds paperwork and some uncertainty about the outcome. For that reason we suggest a QEP course unless you already hold qualifying training. Self-paced, live or bundled: matching the format to the candidate

Self-paced suits people who study in short evenings and have a stable schedule; live suits those who want an instructor and a fixed deadline. Both satisfy the 21 hours when the course is a QEP with an instructor component the ACMP accepts.

For a first credential with three years of experience, we would pick the live format if your calendar allows three full days, since the date forces the start. Otherwise the self-paced course with a written plan works just as well; our six-week study plan shows how to lay it out. CCMP fees on top of the course

The CCMP application costs US$595 for ACMP members and US$795 for non-members on 7 October 2026, and the exam fee is included (ACMP application page). A retake costs US$300 or US$375, with up to two retakes within a year of acceptance.

The exam has 150 multiple-choice questions, lasts three hours and is proctored online by Kryterion or taken at a Kryterion centre. The pass mark is not published. We cover the structure in the CCMP exam format and pass mark and the steps from file to exam day in the application process.

Practice questions and the wider field of credentials

Leanova sells practice questions separately from its courses: three 150-question mock exams (450 questions in all) at US$95 on 7 October 2026. Three full mocks mirror the 150-question length of the real exam, which is the reason we like that structure.

Not every candidate needs the CCMP.
